About the formats

High Efficiency Image Format (.heif)

The container standard behind HEIC, used by some Android phones and cameras. It’s commonly used for Android phones, mirrorless cameras, and exports.

JPEG (.jpg)

The universal photo format — small files and support in every app and device. It’s a great choice for Sharing photos and web images.

Is it private?

Yes. Everything runs locally in your browser, so your HEIF images are never intentionally sent to a server. Read more on our privacy page, or see whether converting images online is safe.

Frequently asked questions

Is this HEIF to JPG converter free?

Yes. It’s completely free with no signup, no watermarks, and no per-file limits beyond sensible batch caps that keep your browser responsive.

Are my HEIF files uploaded to a server?

No. Conversion happens entirely in your browser using WebAssembly and your device’s own image tools, so your files are never intentionally sent to a server.

Does converting HEIF to JPG reduce quality?

JPG is a compressed format, so you can trade a little quality for a smaller file using the quality slider. At 90–95% the difference is invisible for most images. Since HEIF is already compressed, converting won’t restore lost detail, but it won’t noticeably degrade the image either.

Can I convert multiple HEIF files at once?

Yes. Add up to 50 files per batch, convert them together, and download them individually or as a single ZIP.
